3 key players for Kiffin defense
The key, Dungy said, comes down to finding three critical pieces:
1) A tackle that can command double teams and create havoc inside;
2) A weakside linebacker that can run, tackle in the open field, cover and make plays in the passing game;
3) A take-charge safety who can make the defensive calls, get everyone lined up in the right spots, move up into the box to be a run player but also has the skill and speed to play half the field in the Cover-2 zone scheme.
“Those guys,” Dungy said, “are hard to find.”
1) we need this guy. I think Ratliff could do this
2)we have Bruce Carter who can do this with ease, just has to stay healthy
3)Need this as well.
who will be the guys we need to target in FA and draft to fill 1 and 3

I think safety is our biggest concern right now.

It would be nice if we knew what we had in Matt Johnson.

With Hatcher and Ratliff lissemore i dont think there will be much demand for DT in Dallas at this time.
Weakside LBer will be Carter and i believe they will resign Sims and still have albright wilber and lemon.
What i think they need is a DE but not in round 1, because they do have Crawford. And safety which id be mad if they went with a S in round 1.
DE and Safety can be had in round 2 and 3.
Biggest need on Defense, is still get better on the OL. You get a better OL you reduce the amout of time the defense is on the field.

I think Vcarro, Shawn Williams, Reid and Elam will be the best safties to fit the scheme. I would take McDonald off the list for us to draft. He didn't play good under Kiffin.

With the switch, if made immediately, TRat almost has to stay and could be that guy at least for the short term. Still need another guy there to rotate with him though, cause he won't hold up there by himself.
Safety flies up our draft board, and its really unavoidable with the lack of talent we have there and the needs for this type of defense.

If Warmack is there, draft him. If not, go get the best safety

That's odd because Warren Sapp, the key cog in the Tampa Super Bowl defense, played the under-tackle in the 4-3-under front. That position is designed to minimize or eliminate that player from getting double teamed.
The tackle that took on the double-teams was Anthony McFarland.
